1. Look forward to (esperar con ganas)
Ejemplo: I am looking forward to seeing you next week.
Ojo: siempre va seguido de un verbo en -ing o un sustantivo.
2. Carry out (llevar a cabo / realizar)
Ejemplo: The scientists carried out an experiment.
3. Find out (descubrir / averiguar)
Ejemplo: We need to find out what time the train leaves.
4. Give up (rendirse / dejar un hábito)
Ejemplo: He gave up smoking last year.
5. Set up (fundar / configurar / establecer)
Ejemplo: She decided to set up her own business.
6. Take up (empezar un hobby o actividad)
Ejemplo: I've recently taken up photography.
7. Turn out (resultar / acabar siendo)
Ejemplo: The weather turned out to be beautiful.
8. Bring up (criar a alguien / sacar un tema)
Ejemplo: She was brought up by her grandparents.
9. Come across (encontrar por casualidad)
Ejemplo: I came across an old photo while cleaning.
10. Put off (posponer)
Ejemplo: They had to put off the meeting until tomorrow.
11. Look after (cuidar de)
Ejemplo: Can you look after my dog this weekend?
12. Run out of (quedarse sin algo)
Ejemplo: We have run out of milk, I need to buy more.
13. Get on well with (llevarse bien con alguien)
Ejemplo: I get on very well with my new colleagues.
14. Make up (inventar una excusa o historia / reconciliarse)
Ejemplo: He made up an excuse for being late.
15. Turn down (rechazar / bajar el volumen)
